Scrapbooking Date

Hello Ladies!

I need a count of who is coming on May 7.

We will be scrapbooking from 1-6(cost will be $5) and then dinner afterwards.

This will be our"Mom's Night Out" event for May.

I have to give a head count to the woman who is having it by Monday.

If we don't have at least 5-8 people we will have to cancel this event.

Tax Credit Increase Proposed

Help raise the tax credit to $15,000 for adoption!
HR 1561 was recently introduced by Congressman Harold Ford of Tennessee to increase the adoption tax credit to $15,000. The proposed Childhood Adoption Act will increase the adoption tax credit and exclusion that the federal government grants eligible taxpayers for certain expenses paid to adopt an eligible child from $10,000 to $15,000.

National Birthmother Day

May 13 is National Birthmother Day: Birthmother's Day is celebrated the Saturday before Mother's Day. It originated in 1990 by a group of birthmothers in Seattle, Washington. Most birthmothers will agree that Mother's Day is a very painful holiday and these women wanted to create something that would honor their birthmotherhood.

Scrapbooking Date

Jeannine has booked a day of scrapping.

When: May 7, 2006

Time: 1-6pm

The fee will be $5 per person which will include a table space to scrap,

no husbands or kids to bother you, and a light snack.

There will be Creative Memories consultant there to do a mini workshop

and will have products on hand to purchase.

Happy One Year Anniversary!

Happy 1 Year Anniversary "From the Heart" Adoption Group! Do you believe it has been only a year that all of us meet for the first time at Ruby Tuesdays. It feels like I have known all of you for years. Mary Ann and I never imagined that this group would have grown so big and so fast. We currently have 25 active members in our group and 30 children(31 in a few months). We have families that have adopted from all over the United States, Russia, China, Korea, Belarus and Guatemala. We have all cried , laughed and shared the ups and downs of adoption. We have been there to help raise one another up when times were hard, to offer advice when dealing with adoption issues, and laugh at the silly journeys we have had as Moms. We have scared some people away with our honesty and our twisted humor. But above all else we have formed a bond that I hope will last a lifetime. Mary Ann and I look forward to the next coming year as we get ready to celebrate our group, our children, and the selfless Birthparents who chose life! Thank you to all of you for making this group what it is...AMAZING!!!
